A  study conducted by Manhattan Research of over 2,000 U.S. physicians indicates that physicians are spending eight hours online each week in 2010. In 2006 it was reported that they spent 4.5 hours online and in 2002 only 2.5 hours online each week. It is clear that doctors are spending more of their professional time online and the study examines their digital activities. Topics in the report include areas such as patient interaction and education, participation in physician-only only communities, message boards, and blogs, and other areas.
